Meet at 6:30 pm outside the gate in the McHugh parking area on the Seward Highway. Me will take the main trail and head partway up toward Rainbow Peak, then either return by the same route, or bushwhack back down to the trail in a figure nine.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Unnamed" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at6:30 pm at the Rainbow trailhead on the Seward Highway. We will ascend an unnamed ridge to a suitable turnaround point. There will be some bushwhacking and route finding involved.
Rob DeVelice will lead "Outta Sight" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 pm in the McHugh parking lot (outside the gate) on the
Seward Highway. We will begin on the Turnagain Arm and McHugh Lake trails but will soon proceed to the rocky ridge below McHugh Saddle via bushwack and scramble. A goal will be to minimize encounters with snow in a roughly loop route.
Rob DeVelice will lead "Flight of the Raven" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 pm in the Bird Ridge parking area on the Seward
Highway or, if you want to car pool, at the weigh station just after
Potter Marsh at 6:15 pm. We will immediately head up slope through
the forest, brush, grass, rocks, and snow to a high point from which
we jump over the Bird Ridge Trail and dive down towards Bird
Creek. This will be an energetic loop involving minimal use of
maintained trails.
E. Marquez will lead "Mountain Air" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 pm at the Falls Creek trailhead on the Seward Highway. V/e
will take the old Turnagain Arm trail for approximately 1/2 mile before
heading uphill towards the ridge. We will ietutn by the same route. There
will be some bushwhacking and route finding involved.
Mike Monterusso will lead "1950s Haircut" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.
Meet at 6:30 pm at Upper Huffman Trailhead. We will run up the powerline to Glen
Alps and ascend Flattop Mountain. An ice axe may be helpful.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Ptarmi gan Ptrails" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.
Meet af 6:30 pm at the Glen Alps trailhead on the Anchorage Hillside
We will jog up the Powerline Trail with the intention of exploring the
Ptarmigan Pass area. We will return by the same route.
Rob DeVelice will lead "Being Cool" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in West Anchorage.
Meet at 6:30 pm in the Jodhpur parking lot in Kincaid Park. We will drop down to
the beach from the sand dune and will follow the beach a ways before ascending to
the ridge fail to ultimately complete a loop.
E. Marquez will lead "Nameless" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.
Meet at 6:30 pm in the parking area for Hillside Park on Abbott Road. We will
head out on the upper gasline trail to Prospect Heights and continue to Near Point and return.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Rough on the Edges redux" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.
Meet at 6:30 pm at the Basher Trailhead off Campbell Airstrip Road. This will be a
repeat of the route from earlier in the year. We will proceed to the standard trail up
Wolverine, climb to the plateau, and bushwhack down to the Middle Fork trail and
return.
Rob DeVelice will lead "Beachcombing" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in West Anchorage.
Meet at 6:30 pm in the parking area at Point Woronzof off Northern Lights Boulevard. V/e will proceed immediately down onto the frozen beaches of Cook Inlet. As envisioned, the route will be a rambling out and back among blocks of pan ice and snow covered mudflats.
E. Marquez will lead "Bonus Footage" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 pm at the Falls Creek trailhead on the Seward Highway (on the left about one mile after Windy Corner heading towards Indian). We will head up the standard trail for about an hour before turning around.
