01/16/2025 – Hijo de la Chingada

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Hijo de la Chingada" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Upper Huffman trailhead. We will take a circuitous mix of obscure trails mixed with bushwhacking, possibly crossing the Middle Fork of Campbell Creek returning via a loop route.

01/09/2025 – Rough on the Edges

E. Marquez will lead "Rough on the Edges" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Prospect Heights trailhead. We will take the Wolverine trail to the cairn, before diverting to the high plateau beneath Wolverine and over the shoulder before descending to the Middle Fork trail.

This epic will be dedicated to the memory of Ron Nicholl, fellow Epic participant and quintessence of the Epic spirit, who passed away in 2024.

12/19/2024 – Not So Near Point

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Not So Near Point" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Basher trailhead on the south side of Campbell airstrip road. We will take the trails to Near Point, then continue on along the ridge to the pass, ascend and traverse the shoulder of Wolverine until we reach the main trail again for our return.

12/05/2024 – Triangulation

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Triangulation" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Glen Alps trailhead. We will take the trail towards Middle Fork. Just before the creek we will head uphill skirting the southern edge of the krummholz. Once we are past the trees we will descend to the Middle Fork trail to complete a figure 9 route.

11/21/2024 – No Man’s Land

Jesse Gobeli will lead "No Man's Land" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Prospect Heights trailhead. We will take the main trail towards Wolverine before turning off at the large boulder and plunging into No Man’s Land. We will head to the pass, and then take the trail back over Near Point for the return.

11/14/2024 – Monkeyflower

E. Marquez will lead "Monkeyflower" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Glen Alps trailhead. We will take the Middle Fork trail for a mile or more before diverting uphill, taking a circuitous route past the Monkeyflower springs to reach the high point on the west side of the ballfield. We will return across the ballfield by the standard route. Snowshoes might be helpful as we traverse the lower portions of the valley.

10/17/2024 – A little Rusty

E. Marquez will lead "A little Rusty" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Prospect Heights trailhead. We will take the main trail and then the Middle Fork trail. We will detour from the Middle Fork trail directly uphill to the See Me Feel Me boulder, and from there to Rusty Point. We will traverse the ridge to the low saddle, and then divert directly to the Wolverine trail cairn and back to the trailhead.

10/03/2024 – Bunny Boots Reverse

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Bunny Boots Reverse" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Glen Alps trailhead. This route will be the reverse of the March 21st epic “North Side Bunny Boots Repeat” epic. We will jog out the powerline trail to about mile 2.5, then head directly up to the summit of Peak Three.

09/12/2024 – Ship Lake Pass

Josh A. will lead "Ship Lake Pass" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Glen Alps trailhead. We will take the trail towards Hidden Lake and to Ship Lake Pass. We will pass behind the Wedge on sheep trails, drop back down towards Powerline Pass trail and return.

09/05/2024 – O’Malley Reverse

Jesse Gobeli will lead "O'Malley Reverse" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Glen Alps trailhead. We will ascend Nintendo Hill and traverse across the ballfield and down to Black Lake. Then, we will look for a route through the cliffs and ascend O’Malley from the north. Return will be via the standard route.
