07/25/2024 – Mchugh Traverse

E. Marquez will lead "Mchugh Traverse" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Rabbit Lake trailhead. From the trailhead, we will immediately drop down to Rabbit Creek and follow the trail until we head towards McHugh Peak. Once we reach the ridge, we will drop over the other side into the McHugh Lake drainage. From there, we will follow the trails back towards Rabbit Lake and back to the start.

07/18/2024 – False Peak

Lee Helzer will lead "False Peak" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at Glen Alps trailhead for a 6:30 departure.  We will head out the Powerline trail then take the Hidden Lake Trail.  Once we reach the rock garden atop the knoll where we traditionally head toward the river we will instead B-Line it to the summit of False Peak.  From the summit we will return to the Powerline trail via the gully just west of False Peak.

Note: I will be 15 to 20 minutes late.  Please start without me and I will do my best to catch up.

06/27/2024 – South Sui

E. Marquez will lead "South Sui" with a duration of 5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Rabbit Creek trailhead. We will run the main trail to the lake, veer left, and ascend the slope to the ridge above the lake. From there we will proceed along the ridge to South Suicide Peak. Return route will be at the desires of the participants.

06/20/2024 – Hope Mountain Plus

Josh A. will lead "Hope Mountain Plus" with a duration of 4.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 at the Rabbit Creek trailhead. We’ll head down the standard Rabbit Lake trail for several miles before heading up the ridge to Hope Mountain (4630). We will then take the ridge back towards Rabbit Lake looking for glissade opportunites. We will return via the standard Rabbit Lake trail.

Ice axe recommended for maximum glissade enjoyment.

05/16/2024 – Wolverine Traverse Redux

E. Marquez will lead "Wolverine Traverse Redux" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

This will be a redux of the 4/11/2024 attempt that was aborted due to extreme wind conditions.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Prospect Heights trailhead. We will take the main trail to Wolverine and the cairn. From there, we will head directly across valley to the low saddle between Wolverine and Rusty Point. After crossing over, we will drop down to the middle fork of Campbell Creek and return via various trails.

04/11/2024 – Wolverine Traverse

E. Marquez will lead "Wolverine Traverse" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Prospect Heights trailhead. we will take the main trail to Wolverine and the cairn. From there, we will head directly across valley to the low saddle between Wolverine and Rusty Point. After crossing over, we will drop down to the the middle fork of Campbell creek, taking trails back to the trailhead. Snowshoes will very likely be necessary. e

03/28/2024 – Ptarmigan Pass

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Ptarmigan Pass" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Glen Alps trailhead. We will run the powerline trail, ascend Ptarmigan Pass, then descend to the Rabbit Lakes trail and up and over Flattop to return.

03/21/2024 – North Side Bunny Boots Repeat

Lee Helzer will lead " North Side Bunny Boots Repeat" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet for a 6:30 departure at the Glen Alps Trailhead.

This will be an attempt to fully complete North Side Bunny Boots which we had to shorten due to high winds.

The route will ascend the original route up Flattop and will continue on the ridge to Peak 3. In the Peak 3 vicinity we will descend to the Powerline Trail and return to the trail head.

03/14/2024 – McHugh Peak

E. Marquez will lead "McHugh Peak" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at the Rabbit Creek trailhead at 6:30 p.m. We will proceed up the main trail for a mile or so, before dropping down to the creek and then ascending the valley towards McHugh Peak. Return route will vary. Snowshoes will be required.
