04/03/2014 – Bird Flew

Rob DeVelice will lead "Bird Flew" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 pm in the Bird Ridge mega parking lot (not the small lot). We will start on the Bird Ridge Trail  but will quickly diverge to hidden paths leading to Bird Creek Falls. From there our route will proceed to and up a steep, scrambly, and possibly icy climb to Bird Ridge where we will descend via the main trail. This is a monumental classic.

03/20/2014 – NS ridgeline

Jesse Gobeli will lead "NS ridgeline" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the main trailhead at the end of Boretide road in Indian.   We will take the Powerline Pass trail for approximately 2 miles whereupon we will bushwhack uphill and due west as we explore the toe of the ridge that eventually becomes North Suicide Peak.

03/13/2014 – The Rays on Rainbow

Lee Helzer will lead "The Rays on Rainbow" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:15pm (note the earlier time) in the Telephone Pole Rock parking area (on the left after Beluga Point) on the Seward Highway. We will head up to the Turnagain Arm Trail and then diverge onto a ridge heading towards the Black Mesa. From there we will continue with ice ax and spikies up the North Face of Rainbow Peak (hopefully) enjoying a beautiful sunset along the way.

From the summit we will take the standard route back to the Turnagain Arm Trail and return to the cars. There are out and back opportunities for those not desiring partaking in the full enchilada.

03/06/2014 – Feeling Good

Rob DeVelice will lead "Feeling Good" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 PM at the Falls Creek trailhead on the Seward Highway. The route will depend on the conditions of the day but will definitely include some steep ups and downs and a serving or two of bushwacking.

02/13/2014 – Paths Less Travelled

Rob DeVelice will lead "Paths Less Travelled" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Rendezvous at 6:30 pm in the parking area on the left immediately after mile post 111 of the Seward Highway. This will be an out and back featuring steep terrain, bushwacking, and scrambling with minimal presence of human made paths.

01/30/2014 – Unnamed – Variation 2

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Unnamed - Variation 2" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Rainbow trailhead parking area.    We will take a route that follows the main creek until the brush becomes impenetrable.  Then we will head uphill through hemlock and spruce forest, connect with the Unnamed ridge, and head back down for a loop route.  Traction devices may be necessary.

12/05/2013 – Nothing New

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Nothing New" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at the Rainbow trailhead on Turnagain Arm at 6:30.  We will head to mile marker 8, turn uphill, and explore the upper slopes possibly as far as the Unnamed ridge route before looping back to the start.

10/24/2013 – Jewel in the Rough

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Jewel in the Rough" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at the telephone pole rock parking area on the mountain side of the highway just south of Beluga Point.   We will take the Turnagain Arm trail for a short while before heading uphill and completing a loop route back to the parking area.

10/17/2013 – Sheep Thrills Loop

Rob DeVelice will lead "Sheep Thrills Loop" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 pm at the Falls Creek trailhead on the Seward Highway. We will proceed up to Sheep Thrills Ridge via bushwhacking and scrambling. We will then continue along the ridge to a logical point of descent to the Falls Creek Trail and the return to the trailhead. Depending on presence and abundance of snow, traction devices may be desirable.

10/03/2013 – Pottering Around

E. Marquez will lead "Pottering Around" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 pm at the weigh station on the Seward Highway just south of Potter Marsh. We will take the Turnagain Arm Trail for a short distance then head uphill to ascend towards the ridge. We will pick a location to descend and bushwhack towards McHugh to the Turnagain Arm Trail and return.

09/26/2013 – McHugh Mixup

Rob DeVelice will lead "McHugh Mixup" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 pm in the lower parking lot (outside the gate) at McHugh Creek on the Seward Highway. We will proceed on trails up McHugh Creek, then scramble and bushwack up slopes and ridges towards McHugh Saddle (but not all the way to the saddle), and end by looping back to the start. About 65 percent of the route will be off trail.
