10/17/2013 - Sheep Thrills Loop

"Have another little piece of my heart now, baby, You know you got it if it makes you feel good, Oh, yes indeed." ~Jerry Ragovoy and Bert Berns (excerpt from “Piece of My Heart”)

Rob DeVelice will lead "Sheep Thrills Loop" with an estimated duration of 2.5 hours.

Meet at 6:30 pm at the Falls Creek trailhead on the Seward Highway. We will proceed up to Sheep Thrills Ridge via bushwhacking and scrambling. We will then continue along the ridge to a logical point of descent to the Falls Creek Trail and the return to the trailhead. Depending on presence and abundance of snow, traction devices may be desirable.

Post Report

A very pushy wind dominated the Sheep Thrills Epic causing the wise to return to their vehicles near retreating white caps.  The imprudent continued to see what was beyond the next rock, but after hours of binge drinking the brisk mountain air the remaining trio were sent home after a failed sobriety test along a menacing cliff.
