02/12/2015 – Sky Pilot

Rob DeVelice will lead "Sky Pilot" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 pm in the turn out on the left just past milepost 109 on the Seward Highway (past the fresh water pipe). After a brief section on the highway we will ascend steep slopes above the Sky Pilot rock climbing area. This loop route will mostly be off trail on steep, brushy slopes interspersed with steep, snow covered talus. Traction devises are recommended.

01/15/2015 – Waning Gibbous Phase

Lee Helzer will lead "Waning Gibbous Phase" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at Glen Alps trailhead for a 6:30pm departure.  We’ll head up the Powerline trail, but diverge shortly after to access Nintendo Hill.  Once on the ridge we’ll cross the ball field in search for prime critter habitat and return via Williwaw Lakes and Middle Fork trails.

12/11/2014 – Unnamed “Workshop”

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Unnamed "Workshop"" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Rainbow trailhead.   Previous participants know this route as a formidable and sustained bushwhack through dense alder and hemlock forest.   During this Epic workshop, we will travel a series of heretofore unknown trails that will unlock the labyrinth of the upper mountain.   This will be an out and back route.   Microspikes recommended.

11/13/2014 – SNOTEL – The Search Continues

Lee Helzer will lead "SNOTEL - The Search Continues" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

We will depart from Prospect Heights trail head at 6:30pm and head up the Middle Fork Trail where we will continue the search with hopefully better beta for the mythical outpost that uses meteorites to communicate. There should be little bush whacking.  After searching for the outpost we’ll return via the Powerline Trail.

10/30/2014 – SNOTEL

Lee Helzer will lead "SNOTEL" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

We will depart from Prospect Heights trail head at 6:30pm and head up the Powerline trail.  We will hang a left to investigate some “trails” visible via satellite imagery that should lead us across the South Fork of Campbell Creek.  After crossing the creek we’ll bushwhack to 61° 6′ 53″ N, 149° 40′ 1″ W and search for a mythical outpost that uses meteorites to communicate. After searching for the outpost we’ll return via the South Fork Trail.

10/09/2014 – Nearly There

Mike Monterusso will lead "Nearly There" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 at the end of Basher Drive (where Basher turns into Kalmia).  We will NOT be entering military lands, but rather will round the corner and access the trail that leads up the backside of Near Point.  We’ll skirt Near Point and head for the Wolverine trail, then descend the trail toward the Basher trail, pass through the Basher trailhead, and return to our cars via Basher Drive.

08/21/2014 – Rendezvous Ridge

Lee Helzer will lead "Rendezvous Ridge" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in JBER.

Meet at 6:30 pm in the pull out just before the parking lot at the end of Arctic Valley Road. We will head up to Rendezvous Peak then take the ridge back to exceptional berry picking.  After our mouths are blue and bellies full we’ll descend towards Ship Creek and catch a trail maintained by the local moose and bear population.

07/31/2014 – McHugh 3.0

Mike Monterusso will lead "McHugh 3.0" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 at the end of Steamboat Drive (approximate address is 17920 Steamboat Drive, 99516).  We’ll proceed down the access road and make a short climb while dodging bears up to the ridge.  From there we’ll take the ridge toward McHugh Peak and turn around after 1.5-2.0 hours before returning via the same route.
