02/11/2016 – The Trail to the Trail which connects to the Trail

Lee Helzer will lead "The Trail to the Trail which connects to the Trail" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet in the parking area next to the military base at the end of Basher Dr. for a 6:30 departure on a rare and seldom seen all-trail Epic. (we could find some bushwhacking if folks want)  We’ll head west to the Power-line, take the Power-line across the road to the Lost Cabin Valley trail, and return via the Near Point trail.

Micro spikes recommended.

12/03/2015 – The Jewel in the Rough

Jesse Gobeli will lead "The Jewel in the Rough" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Telephone Pole rock parking area just past Beluga Point on the Seward Highway.  We will follow the Turnagain arm trail for a ways, ascend the mountain to somewhere below the black mesa massif, and then descend by a different route.

11/12/2015 – We Remember

Lee Helzer will lead "We Remember" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in Eklutna.

Meet at 6:30pm in the parking area at the start of Eklutna Lake road.  Due to limited space we will carpool to gravel pullout at about mile 4.5 on Eklutna Lake Road by electric pole 74.  We will then hike up the road to electric pole 85 where we will depart the road and head up to the monument, pay homage, and return.  Micro-spikes recommended.    Please allow extra time for traffic delays.

10/15/2015 – Highland

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Highland" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 at the pullout just before Arctic Valley ski area.   We are planning to ascend Mt. Gordon Lyon, descend to the valley below, and ascend Highland Mountain.  We will reverse the route on the return.

09/17/2015 – Aqueous Solution

Rob DeVelice will lead "Aqueous Solution" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Rendezvous with Rob D. at 6:30 pm in the McHugh parking area on the Seward Highway. Our route will vary depending on meteorological conditions but will definitely include a mix of trails, bushwack, and cross country with an expected duration of less than 2.5 hours.

07/09/2015 – Having a Ball

Rob DeVelice will lead "Having a Ball" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet Rob D at 6:30 pm at the Flattop trailhead in Glen Alps Parking Area. We will head up to the Ball Field by an alternative route to the standard gully. After a bit of a ridge romp we will kick a ball across the Ball Field and descend to the trail and return in a figure 9 configuration for a total duration of about 2.5 hours.

05/14/2015 – Bird on a Wire

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Bird on a Wire" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Bird Creek Trailhead at the end of Konikson Road.   This epic will involve a general exploration of the old mining roads and sights of the Bird Creek area.  Highlights will include a 1965 mustang fastback and the waterfalls of Bird Creek.   Route may include creek crossings and some bushwhacking.

03/05/2015 – A different Rainbow

Jesse Gobeli will lead "A different Rainbow" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at the Telephone Pole Rock pullout, just past Beluga Point on the Seward Highway at 6:30.  We will bushwhack to a location below Rainbow Peak, traverse across the mountainside, and return along the main trail.

02/26/2015 – Peak 1…2…3…

E. Marquez will lead "Peak 1...2...3..." with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at the corner of Upper De Armoun and Canyon road at 6:15 p.m.  We will carpool to the end of Canyon Road and the start of the Epic.  We will ascend Flattop peak, then traverse to Peak 2 and Peak 3 as time permits before descending to the trail and back to the start.   Microspikes are recommended.

02/19/2015 – Touch Me, Feel Me

Rob DeVelice will lead "Touch Me, Feel Me" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at Prospect Heights trailhead at 6:30 pm. This will be an out and back on trails and routes to “Touch Me, Feel Me” boulder high on Rusty Point. There will be minimal bushwacking but some of the terrain will be steep.

“Touch Me, Feel Me” boulder is featured in the photo below and will be the destination of the February 19 Epic.
