02/09/2017 – Potter Exploration

Lee Helzer will lead "Potter Exploration" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet in the larger pull off parking area off the Seward Highway along Potter Marsh before Potter Valley Road.  The pull off is typically used for ice skaters, but not the one off Potter Valley road.  We’ll traverse the marsh and then post-hole / bush whack up the hill a ways looking for man-made and game trails.  We will return via Potter Creek.  Gaiters and micro spikes recommended.

01/26/2017 – No Problemo

E. Marquez will lead "No Problemo" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Rainbow trailhead.  We will take the main trail for approximately 1 mile, before diverting along the western side of the creek.   There will be bushwhacking and deep snow before we rejoin the main trail and return.

01/05/2017 – Hillside Ramble

E. Marquez will lead "Hillside Ramble" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at Hillside Trailhead at 6:30 p.m.  We will proceed along a route towards N. Bivouac trailhead, then to the Powerline, towards Campbell Creek and return through Prospect Heights.

12/15/2016 – Ballfield

Joe Nyholm will lead "Ballfield " with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30pm at Glen alps parking lot. We will go towards o’malley and head westward on the middle fork trail and find a way up to the ridge and then proceed to the ball field. Once there we will do a lap or go up the o’malley ridge for a short ways and then return on a more direct route.

09/15/2016 – The Iron Nipple

Lee Helzer will lead "The Iron Nipple" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in Eagle River - North.

At 6:15, meet in the northeast portion of the Eagle River Wal-Mart parking lot.  We will carpool to a very limited parking “trailhead” to access the Iron Nipple on an out and back.  This will be a new location with theoretical access researched solely through the ether.  If access is an issue we will divert to the Mile Hi trail head.

07/21/2016 – Rusty

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Rusty" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Prospect Heights trailhead.  We will head to the Middle Fork trail for a bushwhacking ascent of Rusty Point.

06/23/2016 – Pebbles

Rob DeVelice will lead "Pebbles" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in West Anchorage.

Rendezvous at 6:30 pm in the parking lot of Goldenview Middle School (15800 Goldenview Drive) for car pooling to the start. We will take a mix of Potter Heights trails and open ridges towards McHugh Peak and back.

06/09/2016 – Highland

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Highland" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 at the pullout just before Arctic Valley ski area.   We are planning to ascend Mt. Gordon Lyon, descend to the valley below, ascend Highland Mountain, and return via a Figure 9 route.

06/02/2016 – Purification Ceremony

Rob DeVelice will lead "Purification Ceremony" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 pm in the last pull out on the right before Indian on the Seward Highway. We will proceed up Sweat Lodge Ridge via trail towards Indianhouse Mountain. High on the ridge we will hang a left and descend cross country to complete a loop.

05/12/2016 – Bird on a Wire

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Bird on a Wire" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Bird Creek Trailhead at the end of Konikson Road.  We will cross Penguin Creek on our way to exploring the old mining roads and sights of the Bird Creek area.   We will visit the 1965 mustang fastback and the waterfalls of Bird Creek.   We will follow the creek upstream for a mile or two before bushwhacking back to the main trail and return.

02/11/2016 – The Trail to the Trail which connects to the Trail

Lee Helzer will lead "The Trail to the Trail which connects to the Trail" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet in the parking area next to the military base at the end of Basher Dr. for a 6:30 departure on a rare and seldom seen all-trail Epic. (we could find some bushwhacking if folks want)  We’ll head west to the Power-line, take the Power-line across the road to the Lost Cabin Valley trail, and return via the Near Point trail.

Micro spikes recommended.
