E. Marquez will lead "Double Sui" with a duration of 5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:00 pm (note earlier time than usual) at the Falls Creek trailhead on the
Seward Highway. We will ascend both South and North Suicide peaks and return
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Solstice Ramble" with a duration of 5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.
Meet at 6:30 pm in the Prospect Heights parking area on the Anchorage
Hillside. We will take the Middle Fork Trail until we diverge to the summit
Rusty Point. In celebration of the solstice, we will complete the ridge traverse
over Wolverine Peak to the summit of Mount Elliot. We will return by a
circuitous route. There will be turn around options for those not desiring to
do the full route.
Rob DeVelice will lead "Mudstorm on Venus" with a duration of 5 hours somewwhere in JBER.
Rendezvous at 6:00 pm (NOTE the earlier rendezvous time) at the Centennial Park parking lot to convoy to the 6:15 pm start. To get to the 6:00 pm rendezvous point take Muldoon Road to Boundary Avenue (the first road south of the Glenn Highway – Muldoon Road intersection). Take Boundary Avenue east one block and turn left on the Frontage Road. The Centennial Park rendezvous point is on the right shortly thereafter.
This loop route involves segments of the Tank, Snowhawk, and Dome trails and an alpine bushwack.
Be prepared for muddy, dark trails, plus snowy ascents and descents in the central section.
