Rob DeVelice will lead "Bird Ridge Off Trail" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 pm in the original Bird Ridge Trailhead parking lot (not the mega quarry lot). We will blast straight up the slope through forests and meadows to a high point, hop across the Bird Ridge Trail and head down via bushwhack towards Bird Creek and the start/finish area. Most of the route is off trail.
Lee Helzer will lead "The Return" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at the Rainbow trailhead for a 6:30 departure. We will find the rock, dig it up, and return.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "The Lost Route" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 at the Rainbow trailhead. We will find the lost trail that leads to the Rainbow creek headwaters and South Suicide Peak. We will proceed to a turnaround point on the ridge, or to South Suicide if conditions permit. We will return by the same route.
Lee Helzer will lead "Bermuda Triangle" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet for a 6:30 departure at the small Bermuda Triangle pull-out 4.3 miles south of the weigh station on the mountain side of the highway just before Beluga point. If no parking is available park at Beluga Point. We’ll take the Turnagain trail for a bit before heading up the ridge. Expect bushwhacking.
Rob DeVelice will lead "Rite of Spring" with a duration of 1.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 pm in the McHugh Parking Area on the Seward Highway. We will tour a mix of craggy areas searching for early spring flora. Crampons and gaiters may be desirable.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Falls Creek" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at the Falls Creek trailhead at 6:30 p.m. We will proceed up the main trail and proceed as far as we can get. Snowshoes may be necessary.
E. Marquez will lead "Trotting Around Rainbow" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at the Rainbow trailhead for a 6:30 departure. We’ll take the main trail west then depart the comfort of the main trail for a bushwhack up a small wooded ravine. We should meet the main Rainbow trail for the descent.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Remembering Summer" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the weigh station off of the Seward Highway just south of Potter Marsh. For this solstice epic we will think about summer as we complete an out and back on the Turnagain arm trail.
E. Marquez will lead "Potter Overlook" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at the Seward Highway weigh station just south of Potter Marsh at 6:30. We will run to mile 2 of the Turnagain Arm trail where we will bushwhack to the top of the ridge. At the turnaround point we will head straight down to the trail and return.
E. Marquez will lead "Falls Creek Exploration" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 pm at Falls Creek Trailhead on the Seward Highway. We will proceed up the main trail to the ridgeline at the head of the valley. From there we head east (towards South Suicide) to a highpoint and return.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Homicide Lake" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Indian trailhead at the end of Boretide Road. We will take the powerline trail for a mile or two, then ascend through hemlock forests to gain the North Suicide Ridge before descending to Homicide Llake and returning on a figure 9 route.
E. Marquez will lead "Indianhouse Ridge" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at the Falls Creek trailhead at 6:30 p.m. We will follow the main trail to the bowl, then climb to the pass below Indianhouse Mountain. We will take the ridge on the Indian side back down the to old Johnson trail and return to the trailhead.
