Meet at 6:30 p.m at the Falls Creek trailhead. We will proceed along the main trail, post-hole through the valley, and ascend to the head of the Rainbow Creek drainage.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Long and Winding Road" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the weigh station on the Seward Highway by Potter Marsh. We will run to Rainbow and back on the Turnagain Arm trail.
Rob DeVelice will lead "Early Bird" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 9:00 am (note early time) in the large Bird Creek/Ridge parking lot for this Thanksgiving Daytime outing. The specific route to be taken will depend on the desires of those present.
E. Marquez will lead "Rainbow Ridge" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Rainbow trailhead. We will take an alternate route to the ridge and return.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Rounding Error" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 at the McHugh creek trailhead, lower parking area. We will bushwhack to Black Mesa following game trails below Rainbow and all the way to Hole-in-the Wall. From there we will head to a secluded mountain tarn, and then to the McHugh Lakes, before returning on the main trail.
E. Marquez will lead "Call of the Wild" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Falls Creek Trailhead. We will start on the main trail but when we approach the main valley we will cross the creek and ascend to the top of the ridge. We will return the same way.
Lee Helzer will lead "Falls Peak" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at the Falls Creek trailhead for a 6:30 departure. We will head up the trail and break off to ascend Falls Peak.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Penguin via the Old Stump Road" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Bird Creek trailhead at the end of Koniksen Rd. We will take the main trail past the bridge before plunging into the bushwhack approach to Penguin Peak. We will return by the standard Penguin Route.
E. Marquez will lead "Potter" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the weigh station just south of Potter Marsh. We will take the main trail for approximately 1.5 miles before bushwhacking up to the Potter high point. We will return to the main trail by a different route.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Bird on a Wire - Variation #1" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 at the Bird Creek trailhead off of Koniksen Road. We will cross Penguin Creek, bushwhack to Bird Creek and follow alongside for several miles before returning to the main trail. There will be some variation from the traditional route.
Rob DeVelice will lead "High on Potter" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 pm in the parking area at the south end of Potter Marsh (where mail boxes are). We will car pool to a “secret lot” in Potter Heights from whence we will proceed towards McHugh Saddle in out and back fashion.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Bird Flew" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Bird Ridge trailhead (the rock quarry mega-lot). We will follow Bird Creek to the falls, then we will select a suitable ascent route to the top of Bird Ridge. We will return by the standard route.
