Rob DeVelice will lead "Black Mesa" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 pm in the Beluga Point parking area on the Seward Highway. V/e will proceed upslope from Bermuda Triangle with minimal use of trails in route to and from the Black Mesa. Expect moderate bushwacking and some rock scrambling.
Rob DeVelice will lead "Botany Challenge 49" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 pm at the Falls Creek trailhead on the Seward Highway. This will be a hike (not a run). Me will seek and identiff 49 species of plant and note the phenological state of each (germinating, vegetative, flowering, fi:uiting, senescent). The Falls Creek area is
immensely beautiful and includes verdant forests, species rich
shrublands, and a lively stream.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Unnamed" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at6:30 pm at the Rainbow trailhead on the Seward Highway. We will ascend an unnamed ridge to a suitable turnaround point. There will be some bushwhacking and route finding involved.
Rob DeVelice will lead "Outta Sight" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 pm in the McHugh parking lot (outside the gate) on the
Seward Highway. We will begin on the Turnagain Arm and McHugh Lake trails but will soon proceed to the rocky ridge below McHugh Saddle via bushwack and scramble. A goal will be to minimize encounters with snow in a roughly loop route.
Rob DeVelice will lead "Flight of the Raven" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 pm in the Bird Ridge parking area on the Seward
Highway or, if you want to car pool, at the weigh station just after
Potter Marsh at 6:15 pm. We will immediately head up slope through
the forest, brush, grass, rocks, and snow to a high point from which
we jump over the Bird Ridge Trail and dive down towards Bird
Creek. This will be an energetic loop involving minimal use of
maintained trails.
Rob DeVelice will lead "Being Cool" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in West Anchorage.
Meet at 6:30 pm in the Jodhpur parking lot in Kincaid Park. We will drop down to
the beach from the sand dune and will follow the beach a ways before ascending to
the ridge fail to ultimately complete a loop.
Rob DeVelice will lead "Beachcombing" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in West Anchorage.
Meet at 6:30 pm in the parking area at Point Woronzof off Northern Lights Boulevard. V/e will proceed immediately down onto the frozen beaches of Cook Inlet. As envisioned, the route will be a rambling out and back among blocks of pan ice and snow covered mudflats.
E. Marquez will lead "Bonus Footage" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 pm at the Falls Creek trailhead on the Seward Highway (on the left about one mile after Windy Corner heading towards Indian). We will head up the standard trail for about an hour before turning around.
Rob DeVelice will lead "Nearer to God" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.
Meet at 6:30 pm in the Glen Alps parking area on the Anchorage Hillside. There may be two versions of the route depending on the desires of the participants. One version involves climbing a selection of steep snow slopes using crampons and ice axes (not dog friendly). The other version will avoid the need for ice axes (dog friendly).
This Epic will be in celebration of my nephew, Finn Ward, who recently passed from this life. Finn was an adventurous spirit who lived life to the fullest and loved the great outdoors and sharing it with his friends.

Meet at 6:30 pm at the North Bivouac trailhead off of Campbell Airstrip
Road. We will take a variety of trails including the old Tank Trail on a
circuitous route through woodlands and muskeg. May include some
bushwhacking.

Meet at 6:30 pm in the McHugh Creek parking area on the Seward
Highway. We will proceed up to the ridge and down via trail,
bushwack, and scramble in a potentially helical route.
