Meet at 6:30 in the Glen Alps parking lot.  We will depart the fall colors as we know them and embark on a winter journey up Nintendo Hill to the Ball Field.  From the head of the Ball Field we’ll venture over O’Malley’s white shoulder and return via the Powerline trail.

Micro-spikes recommended, Ice axe optional

09/10/2015 – A little rusty

Jesse Gobeli will lead "A little rusty" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Glen Alps trailhead.  We will complete a circuitous route involving ascent of Rusty Point.  Anticipate some bushwhacking and scrambling.

07/09/2015 – Having a Ball

Rob DeVelice will lead "Having a Ball" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet Rob D at 6:30 pm at the Flattop trailhead in Glen Alps Parking Area. We will head up to the Ball Field by an alternative route to the standard gully. After a bit of a ridge romp we will kick a ball across the Ball Field and descend to the trail and return in a figure 9 configuration for a total duration of about 2.5 hours.

04/23/2015 – The Young Dragon’s Tail

Lee Helzer will lead "The Young Dragon's Tail" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at the corner of Upper De Armoun and Canyon road at 6:15 p.m. We will carpool to the end of Canyon Road and the start of the Epic. We will run out Rabbit Creek Trail to Ptarmigan Pass and then ascend Flaketop Peak.  We will return via the ridge.  Microspikes are recommended.

02/26/2015 – Peak 1…2…3…

E. Marquez will lead "Peak 1...2...3..." with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at the corner of Upper De Armoun and Canyon road at 6:15 p.m.  We will carpool to the end of Canyon Road and the start of the Epic.  We will ascend Flattop peak, then traverse to Peak 2 and Peak 3 as time permits before descending to the trail and back to the start.   Microspikes are recommended.

02/19/2015 – Touch Me, Feel Me

Rob DeVelice will lead "Touch Me, Feel Me" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at Prospect Heights trailhead at 6:30 pm. This will be an out and back on trails and routes to “Touch Me, Feel Me” boulder high on Rusty Point. There will be minimal bushwacking but some of the terrain will be steep.

“Touch Me, Feel Me” boulder is featured in the photo below and will be the destination of the February 19 Epic.

02/05/2015 – Simply Potter

Rob DeVelice will lead "Simply Potter" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:15 pm at Goldenview Middle School (on Goldenview Drive) for carpooling to the start. We will follow seldom used routes to the ridge splitting Potter and Little Rabbit Creek valleys. We will then follow the ridge trail towards McHugh Peak and return via a loop configuration. Traction devices recommended.

01/22/2015 – Return to No Man’s Land

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Return to No Man's Land" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at the Prospect Heights trailhead at 6:30 p.m.   We will head up the main trail towards Wolverine, before plunging into the no man’s land between Wolverine and Near point.  We will ascend to a point where we can overlook the North Fork of the Campbell Creek, and return via the Near Point trail.

01/15/2015 – Waning Gibbous Phase

Lee Helzer will lead "Waning Gibbous Phase" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at Glen Alps trailhead for a 6:30pm departure.  We’ll head up the Powerline trail, but diverge shortly after to access Nintendo Hill.  Once on the ridge we’ll cross the ball field in search for prime critter habitat and return via Williwaw Lakes and Middle Fork trails.

11/13/2014 – SNOTEL – The Search Continues

Lee Helzer will lead "SNOTEL - The Search Continues" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

We will depart from Prospect Heights trail head at 6:30pm and head up the Middle Fork Trail where we will continue the search with hopefully better beta for the mythical outpost that uses meteorites to communicate. There should be little bush whacking.  After searching for the outpost we’ll return via the Powerline Trail.

10/30/2014 – SNOTEL

Lee Helzer will lead "SNOTEL" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

We will depart from Prospect Heights trail head at 6:30pm and head up the Powerline trail.  We will hang a left to investigate some “trails” visible via satellite imagery that should lead us across the South Fork of Campbell Creek.  After crossing the creek we’ll bushwhack to 61° 6′ 53″ N, 149° 40′ 1″ W and search for a mythical outpost that uses meteorites to communicate. After searching for the outpost we’ll return via the South Fork Trail.
