01/14/2016 - The Felling Wedge

"I don't know where I'm going from here, but I promise it won't be boring" - David Bowie

Lee Helzer will lead "The Felling Wedge" with an estimated duration of 3 hours.

We will depart from the Glen Alps trail head at 6:30 and head up the Powerline trail.  We will leave the trail to tag a high point on the nose of the Wedge before the steep rocks and return via a combination of the Hidden Lakes and Powerline trails. Snow shoes recommended.

Post Report

Snow conditions were good on the powerline trail.  Crossing the valley was reasonable with minor deep snow toward the north side of the valley.  Ascending the hill was difficult but good due to stable base snow.  The return route was good.

Clear sky, calm, comfortable temperature.
