E. Marquez will lead "Follow the Rabbit" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.
Meet at 6:10 pm (note earlier time than usual) at the corner of Upper de
Armoun and Canyon roads. We will follow the trail to Rabbit Lake. We
will traverse north of the lake in search of a route to Powerline Pass. We
will return on the Powerline trail.
E. Marquez will lead "Ninja Ridge" with a duration of 4.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.
Meet at 6:10 pm (note earlier time than usual) at the corner of Upper de
Armoun and Canyon roads. We will carpool to the Rabbit Lakes trailhead.
We will follow the trail for 1/2 mile before dropping down to cross Rabbit
Creek and go up Baldy, continuing on to McHugh Peak. We will traverse the
ridge to Rabbit Lake, and return on the main trail.
E. Marquez will lead "Quadruple Bypass" with a duration of 5.5 hours somewwhere in Eagle River - North.
Meet at 6:30 pm at Mile Hi trailhead in Eagle River. In order, the route
will ascend Mount Magnificent, descend to Meadow Creek, then ascend
Vista Peak, Roundtop, and Blacktail Ptarmigan Rocks. Some bushwacking will be involved.
E. Marquez will lead "O'Malley Peak" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.
Meet at 6:30 pm in the Glen Alps parking area. We will head up to the Ballfield and
then go up to O’Malley ridge and head to the summit. We will come down towards
Hidden Lake.
E. Marquez will lead "Indianhouse Ridge" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 pm at the Falls Creek Trailhead on the Seward Highway. We
will head out on the trail towards Indian, and about a half mile out, will head
uphill to the top of the ridge. We will stay onthe ridge for awhile, then come
down towards southeast face and back to start.
E. Marquez will lead "Sweat Lodge" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 pm at the Falls Creek trailhead on the Seward Highway.
We will go a short distance on the Falls Creek trail, turn east on the
old TurnagainArm trail, and eventually bushwhack north and climb
towards the ridge. We will find a point to turn around and return by
the same route.
E. Marquez will lead "Tire Iron" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.
Meet at 6:30 pm at the Glen Alps trailhead. W.e will take the trail up Nintendo
Hill to the Ballfield. We will ascend the standard gully to O’Malley ridge, ascend
to the peak, and return via Hidden Lake.
E. Marquez will lead "Ides of March" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 pm at the Falls Creek Trailhead. We will go out on the main
trail for 1.5 hours, see how far we get and turn around. Trails may be icy.
E. Marquez will lead "Nintendo Hill" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.
Meet at 6:30 pm at the Prospect Heights Trailhead. We will take the Powerline
Trail uphill towards Glen Alps. We will then take the Middle Fork Trail across
the creek and climb uphill to the Ballfield. Return will be via the same route.
E. Marquez will lead "Blacktail Ptarmigan" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in Eagle River - North.
Rendezvous at 6:10 to 6:15 pm at the Carrs in Eagle River (park by the gas station). We will car pool to the trailhead for a 6:30 pm start.
The route is simple: go up Baldy and continue on to Blacktail Rocks. There is very little scrambling to the top.
Bring a windbreaker and consider the F-word (flashlight that is!).
