06/11/2015 – Unnamed Reverse

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Unnamed Reverse" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at the Rainbow trailhead at 6:20 p.m.   We will carpool to the Falls Creek trailhead for a 6:30 start.  We will ascend the Sheep Thrills route.  Depending on conditions, we will either descend and return on the Falls Creek trail, or continue on the reverse of the route from two weeks prior.

05/28/2015 – The Unnamed Traverse

Jesse Gobeli will lead "The Unnamed Traverse" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 at the Falls Creek Trailhead.  We will carpool back to the Rainbow trailhead, which will be the start.  We will ascend through birch forest, alders, and hemlock groves to the craggy ridge.  Weather and conditions permitting, we will descend via the Sheep Thrills ridge.

05/21/2015 – Facing Facts

E. Marquez will lead "Facing Facts" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 pm at the Falls Creek trailhead on the Seward Highway. We will proceed up the main trail to the West Ridge of Indianhouse Mountain. We will descend to the valley below South Suicide and return.

03/26/2015 – Rays on Rainbow

Lee Helzer will lead "Rays on Rainbow" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Correction!  The epic will be on Thursday (3/26), not Friday as previously posted.

Meet at 6:30 in the Telephone Pole Rock parking area (on the left after Beluga Point) on the Seward Highway. We will head up to the Turnagain Arm Trail and then diverge onto a ridge heading towards the Black Mesa. From there we will continue with ice ax and micro spikes up the North Face of Rainbow Peak (hopefully) enjoying a beautiful sunset along the way unlike last year’s fierce wind and snow.

From the summit we will take the standard route back to the Turnagain Arm Trail and return to the cars. There are out and back opportunities for those not desiring partaking in the full enchilada.

03/13/2014 – The Rays on Rainbow

Meet at 6:15pm (note the earlier time) in the Telephone Pole Rock parking area (on the left after Beluga Point) on the Seward Highway. We will head up to the Turnagain Arm Trail and then diverge onto a ridge heading towards the Black Mesa. From there we will continue with ice ax and spikies up the North Face of Rainbow Peak (hopefully) enjoying a beautiful sunset along the way.

02/20/2014 – Toilsome Rabbit

Lee Helzer will lead "Toilsome Rabbit" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 6:15 at the junction of Upper DeArmoun & Canyon Rd.  Anne will catch up with us so we can give our best wishes before her big journey north west.  We will carpool to the Rabbit Lake Trail head and start the trudge up the valley towards Rabbit Lake and then follow the McHugh Ridge to the first high point.  We will continue on the ridge west and then exit at the base of a saddle.  After a short jaunt across the valley we will regain the trail and return.

Spiky-McSpikersons (aka traction devices) and an ice ax are are recommended.

07/05/2012 – Ptarmigan Pass

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Ptarmigan Pass" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at Meet at 6:15 p.m. at the corner of upper de Armoun and canyon roads. We
will carpool to the Rabbit lakes trailhead.
We will climb to Flattop and then follow the ridge to ptarmigan pass. We will return  by the Rabbit  lakes  trail.

05/10/2012 – Indianhouse Ridge

E. Marquez will lead "Indianhouse Ridge" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 pm at the Falls Creek Trailhead on the Seward Highway. We
will head out on the trail towards Indian, and about a half mile out, will head
uphill to the top of the ridge. We will stay onthe ridge for awhile, then come
down towards southeast face and back to start.
