10/18/2018 – A Different Wolverine

Jesse Gobeli will lead "A Different Wolverine" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in Peters Creek.

Meet at Glen Alps trailhead at 6:30 p.m.  We will cross the middle fork of the Campbell creek, ascend to Rusty Point, then follow the ridgeline to Wolverine before descending back to the valley and return.

08/30/2018 – Ninja Ridge

E. Marquez will lead "Ninja Ridge" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Rabbit Lakes trailhead (end of the road).  We will take the main trail to Rabbit Lake, then return on the ridge to the south to McHugh Peak, then descend to the creek and return to the trailhead.

08/23/2018 – Rounding Error

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Rounding Error" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 at the McHugh creek trailhead, lower parking area.  We will bushwhack to Black Mesa following game trails below Rainbow and all the way to Hole-in-the Wall. From there we will head to a secluded mountain tarn, and then to the McHugh Lakes, before returning on the main trail.

08/02/2018 – Call of the Wild

E. Marquez will lead "Call of the Wild" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Falls Creek Trailhead.  We will start on the main trail but when we approach the main valley we will cross the creek and ascend to the top of the ridge.  We will return the same way.

07/26/2018 – Ptarmigan

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Ptarmigan" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Glen Alps trailhead.  We will jog several miles before turning off and taking the trail through the pass and to the summit of Ptarmigan.  We will return by the same route.

 

 

07/05/2018 – Pointedly Rusty

E. Marquez will lead "Pointedly Rusty" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at Prospect Heights parking area at 6:30 pm. We will take the main trail towards Wolverine Peak. From the cairn on the ridge we will head to Rusty Point. From the summit, we will take one on a variety of options back, depending on desires of the participants.

05/17/2018 – McHugh Peak

Lee Helzer will lead "McHugh Peak" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:15 p.m. at the corner of Upper De Armoun road and Canyon road.  We will carpool to the trailhead for a 6:30 start.  We’ll take the local trails along Rabbit Creek and ascend the north east flank of McHugh Peak.  We will return via the same route or an alternate path back to rabbit lakes trail.

10/19/2017 – Falls Creek Exploration

E. Marquez will lead "Falls Creek Exploration" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 pm at Falls Creek Trailhead on the Seward Highway. We will proceed up the main trail to the ridgeline at the head of the valley. From there we head east (towards South Suicide) to a highpoint and return.

08/31/2017 – Homicide Lake

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Homicide Lake" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Indian trailhead at the end of Boretide Road.  We will take the powerline trail for a mile or two, then ascend through hemlock forests to gain the North Suicide Ridge before descending to Homicide Llake and returning on a figure 9 route.

08/17/2017 – The Wedge Loop

E. Marquez will lead "The Wedge Loop" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Glen Alps trailhead.  We will take the main trail to the pass between The Ramp and The Wedge, we will follow sheep trails along the back of The Wedge until we can descend to the powerline trail and return.

 

 

08/03/2017 – Indianhouse Ridge

E. Marquez will lead "Indianhouse Ridge" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at the Falls Creek trailhead at 6:30 p.m. We will follow the main trail to the bowl, then climb to the pass below Indianhouse Mountain.  We will take the ridge on the Indian side back down the to old Johnson trail and return to the trailhead.
