Jesse Gobeli will lead "Rough on the Edges redux" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.
Meet at 6:30 pm at the Basher Trailhead off Campbell Airstrip Road. This will be a
repeat of the route from earlier in the year. We will proceed to the standard trail up
Wolverine, climb to the plateau, and bushwhack down to the Middle Fork trail and
return.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Tank Jones Route" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in East Anchorage.
Meet at 6:30 pm at the North Bivouac trailhead off of Campbell Airstrip
Road. We will take a variety of trails including the old Tank Trail on a
circuitous route through woodlands and muskeg. May include some
bushwhacking.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Left Flank" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.
Meet at 6:30 pm at the Basher Trailhead off Campbell Airstrip road. We will
proceed to the standard trail up Wolverine, take a side trail skirting No Man’s
Land, before gaining elevation along Wolverine’s little climbed left flank,
developing a Figure 9 route for a return to the start.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Hidden Lake" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.
Meet at 6:30 pm in the Glen Alps parking lot. We will proceed down the
Powerline Trail, climb to Hidden Lake, and return.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "No Man's Land" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.
Meet at 6:30 pm at the Prospect Heights trail head. We will take the main trail towards
Wolverine Peak before turning off to explore the “No Man’s Land” between
Wolverine Peak and Near Point.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "A little Back and Forth" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in JBER.
Meet at 6:30 pm at the small pulloff just before the ski area at the top of Arctic Valley Road. We will start with a short climb, then descend to the valley floor, then climb back up the ridge, and descend the standard route back to the start.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Mile Hi" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in Eagle River - North.
Meet at 6:30 pm at the Mile Hi trailhead in Eagle River. We will follow Meadow
Creek to the Mile Hi ridge, ascend the long ridge to Peak 5331, and return.
Headlamps and traction devices suggested.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Ptarmigan" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.
Meet at 6:30 pm at the Glen Alps trailhead on the Anchorage Hillside. We will
follow the Powerline Trail to Ptarmigan Pass, ascend to the peak, and return via
the same route.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Unnamed II" with a duration of 2 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 pm at the Rainbow trailhead on the Seward Highway. We will
head straight up the ridge to a suitable turnaround point. There will be some
bushwhacking and route finding. This is a repeat of the Spring route.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Ptarmigan Pass" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.
Meet at Meet at 6:15 p.m. at the corner of upper de Armoun and canyon roads. We
will carpool to the Rabbit lakes trailhead.
We will climb to Flattop and then follow the ridge to ptarmigan pass. We will return by the Rabbit lakes trail.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Solstice Ramble" with a duration of 5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.
Meet at 6:30 pm in the Prospect Heights parking area on the Anchorage
Hillside. We will take the Middle Fork Trail until we diverge to the summit
Rusty Point. In celebration of the solstice, we will complete the ridge traverse
over Wolverine Peak to the summit of Mount Elliot. We will return by a
circuitous route. There will be turn around options for those not desiring to
do the full route.
Jesse Gobeli will lead "Potter Hill Climb" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.
Meet at 6:30 pm at the weigh station parking area just south of Potter Marsh. We
will take the TurnagainArm Trail south for a short distance before proceeding uphill
to the ridge. We will proceed towards McHugh and descend to the Turnagain Arm
Trail for the retum.
