09/18/2014 – Fall Couloir Tour

Mike Monterusso will lead "Fall Couloir Tour" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 at the upper Glen Alps parking lot.  We’ll proceed down the Powerline trail and head toward ship pass.  We’ll divert off the trail and head up toward Little O’Malley where we’ll gain access to the ballfield through one of the small saddles.  We’ll return via the “standard” trail bypassing “Nintendo hill”.

09/04/2014 – Rabbit, Run

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Rabbit, Run" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at the intersection of Upper Canyon and DeArmoun  road at 6:15 p.m.   We will carpool to the trailhead.  We will run out the main trail to Rabbit Lake, circumvent the lake towards the north to reach the high ridge that separates powerline valley.  We will scramble along the ridge to Powerline Pass, descend and return along powerline trail, with one more ascent of the ridge before returning to the trailhead.

08/28/2014 – Quadruple Bypass

E. Marquez will lead "Quadruple Bypass" with a duration of 5 hours somewwhere in Eagle River - North.

Meet at 6:30 pm at the Mile Hi trailhead in Eagle River. We will go out the trail to the summit of Mount Magnificent, come down to the creek and go up Vista Peak, continue to Roundtop and on to Blacktail Rocks, and return to finish.

08/21/2014 – Rendezvous Ridge

Lee Helzer will lead "Rendezvous Ridge" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in JBER.

Meet at 6:30 pm in the pull out just before the parking lot at the end of Arctic Valley Road. We will head up to Rendezvous Peak then take the ridge back to exceptional berry picking.  After our mouths are blue and bellies full we’ll descend towards Ship Creek and catch a trail maintained by the local moose and bear population.

08/14/2014 – Unnatural Demise

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Unnatural Demise" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Indian trailhead.   We will proceed along the powerline pass trail for several miles, before diverging into the Valley of the Unnatural Demise, between the Suicide and Homicide mountains.  The route in and out of the valley will feature extensive alder and krummholz bushwhacking.  We will follow a Figure 9 route, with the goal of reaching the mountain tarn at the head of the valley.

07/31/2014 – McHugh 3.0

Mike Monterusso will lead "McHugh 3.0" with a duration of 2.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 at the end of Steamboat Drive (approximate address is 17920 Steamboat Drive, 99516).  We’ll proceed down the access road and make a short climb while dodging bears up to the ridge.  From there we’ll take the ridge toward McHugh Peak and turn around after 1.5-2.0 hours before returning via the same route.

07/24/2014 – McRabbit Sampler

E. Marquez will lead "McRabbit Sampler" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:15 pm at the intersection of Upper DeArmoun and Canyon Roads. We will carpool to the trailhead. The route will follow Rabbit Lake Trail for a bit, plunge down to cross Rabbit Creek, and ascend McHugh Peak. From there we will proceed to mysterious realms.

07/17/2014 – Buzzard

Rob DeVelice will lead "Buzzard" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 pm at the Bird Creek trailhead at the end of Konikson Road in Bird. We will proceed on trails along Penguin Creek for a ways and then head strait up the Northwest Ridge of Penguin Peak via forest bushwhack. We may go to the summit of Penguin Peak but will definitely descend the Penguin Peak Trail. Expect a potentially difficult stream crossing, uncertain terrain, and hungry brown bears.

07/03/2014 – McNasty Blast

Mike Monterusso will lead "McNasty Blast" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 at the lower level of the McHugh Trail Head parking lot.  We’ll take the McHugh trail back about 3 miles and look to gain access to the McHugh ridge line.  From there we’ll follow the ridge line back to the west, descend the “usual” scree field, and return via the main trail.
