08/29/2024 – Indianhouse Ridge

E. Marquez will lead "Indianhouse Ridge" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Falls Creek trailhead. We will take the main trail to the top of the valley, then ascend the pass to the southwest of Indianhouse, then descend to the old Johnson trail and back to the trailhead.

08/22/2024 – How Low will It Go?

Lee Helzer will lead "How Low will It Go?" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in West Anchorage.

Meet at the concrete soccer ball near the Kincaid Chalet for a 6.30 departure.  We will head to the coast and see how low the tide is then follow the water north doing our best to avoid quicksand.  Expect muddy feet.  We will return via trails and bushwhacking.

08/15/2024 – Eagle River ridge run

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Eagle River ridge run" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in Eagle River - South.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the South Fork Eagle River trailhead. We will head up to the ridge and follow it to point 4603. From there, we will descend to and traverse the rock field to Symphony Lake. We will cross the bridge and jog the main trail back to the trailhead.

08/01/2024 – O’Malley Traverse

Jesse Gobeli will lead "O'Malley Traverse" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Glen Alps trailhead. We will head up to the ballfield and the standard route to O’Malley Peak. Past the summit, we will make a sharp descent to the Williwaw Lakes. We will return via the lakes trail.

07/25/2024 – Mchugh Traverse

E. Marquez will lead "Mchugh Traverse" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Rabbit Lake trailhead. From the trailhead, we will immediately drop down to Rabbit Creek and follow the trail until we head towards McHugh Peak. Once we reach the ridge, we will drop over the other side into the McHugh Lake drainage. From there, we will follow the trails back towards Rabbit Lake and back to the start.

07/18/2024 – False Peak

Lee Helzer will lead "False Peak" with a duration of 3.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at Glen Alps trailhead for a 6:30 departure.  We will head out the Powerline trail then take the Hidden Lake Trail.  Once we reach the rock garden atop the knoll where we traditionally head toward the river we will instead B-Line it to the summit of False Peak.  From the summit we will return to the Powerline trail via the gully just west of False Peak.

Note: I will be 15 to 20 minutes late.  Please start without me and I will do my best to catch up.

07/04/2024 – Bloody Lip

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Bloody Lip" with a duration of 3 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 9:00 a.m. (Note early time) at the Rainbow Creek trailhead. We will carpool from there to Falls Creek, where we will ascend the Sheep Thrills route to the summit by Tortilla Chip. From there, we will descend the Upper Highway route down to the trailhead.

06/27/2024 – South Sui

E. Marquez will lead "South Sui" with a duration of 5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Rabbit Creek trailhead. We will run the main trail to the lake, veer left, and ascend the slope to the ridge above the lake. From there we will proceed along the ridge to South Suicide Peak. Return route will be at the desires of the participants.

06/20/2024 – Hope Mountain Plus

Josh A. will lead "Hope Mountain Plus" with a duration of 4.5 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 at the Rabbit Creek trailhead. We’ll head down the standard Rabbit Lake trail for several miles before heading up the ridge to Hope Mountain (4630). We will then take the ridge back towards Rabbit Lake looking for glissade opportunites. We will return via the standard Rabbit Lake trail.

Ice axe recommended for maximum glissade enjoyment.

06/13/2024 – Dickey Bird Loop

Lee Helzer will lead "Dickey Bird Loop" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at the Bird Valley Trailhead (Konikson Rd) for a 6:30 departure.  We will head out the Penguin Creek trail to the end where we will ascend to the ridge.  We will follow the ridge over Peak 3800 and Dickey Bird then descend and return via the Bird Valley Trail.
