06/16/2022 – Hiland

E. Marquez will lead "Hiland" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in Eagle River - South.

Meet at the South Fork Eagle River trailhead at 6:30 p.m.  We will head up Hunter Pass, then run the ridgeline to Rendezvous, Gordon Lyon and Hiland Mountain.  We will return by the same route.

06/09/2022 – Rainbow Circumnavigation

Lee Helzer will lead "Rainbow Circumnavigation" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet in the lower lot of McHugh for a 6:30 departure.  We will head up McHugh Lake trail keeping an eye out for lakes to swim in when the heat waves return.  At a low saddle we will hop over into the Rainbow Valley and return via sheep trails and eventually the Turnagain Arm trail.

03/10/2022 – Eagle River

Lee Helzer will lead "Eagle River" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in Eagle River - South.

Meet at the Eagle River Greenbelt day use area just south of Eagle River before the Briggs Bridge off Eagle River Loop Road for a 6:30 departure.  We will adventure upstream and if conditions are ideal will continue to where the river meets Eagle River Road for a point A to B route.  Trail reports show open water, but are unclear how far the packed tail will be.  If conditions are unfavorable we will return via the Lower Eagle River Trail.

Expect wet feet.

09/02/2021 – North Suicide

Brent Stockwell will lead "North Suicide" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Note: 6:00pm start.

Meet for a 6:00pm departure from the Rabbit Creek trailhead.  We will take the standard route up North Suicide and leave the option for a South Suicide ascent if participants are willing.  We may experience termination dust.

08/05/2021 – Ptarmigan

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Ptarmigan" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Glen Alps trailhead.  We will take the powerline trail for several miles, then head up slope, pass the mountain tarn, and ascend Ptarmigan.   The return route will be selected by participants.

07/22/2021 – The North Face route

Jesse Gobeli will lead "The North Face route" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Prospect Heights trailhead.  We will take the trail over Near Point, drop down to the creek, follow the creek for 1/2 mile, at which time we will immediately diverge upslope for 2000 ft as we ascend the rarely climbed north face of Wolverine Peak.   The return route will be determined by participants.

06/24/2021 – The Hidden Williwaw Ramp Cirque

Lee Helzer will lead "The Hidden Williwaw Ramp Cirque" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at the Glen Alps parking lot for a 6:30 departure.  We will head up Nintendo Hill and cross the Ballfield to access the Williwaw Lakes Trail.  After a short time on the trail we will break off and explore a small body of water in the picturesque Hidden Williwaw Ramp Cirque.  We will return via the same path or a slightly longer alternative with less elevation.

05/13/2021 – Unnamed

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Unnamed" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Rainbow trailhead.   We will ascend the unnamed trail through birch and hemlock forests and alder thickets to a high spot on the ridge.    The return route will be selected by participants.

07/16/2020 – Ninja Ridge

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Ninja Ridge" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in The Chugach Front Range.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Rabbit Lakes trailhead at the very end of Canyon Rd.  We will follow hidden trails that plunge to Rabbit Creek. We will follow the creek for awhile before taking off on an ascent to McHugh Peak.  We will then stay on the ridgeline all the way to Rabbit Lake and return on the main trail.

03/19/2020 – Bird Creek 20K

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Bird Creek 20K" with a duration of 4 hours somewwhere in Turnagain Arm.

It is time for the Annual Bird Creek 20K!  Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Bird Creek trailhead at the end of Konikson Road.   Participants will be delighted by cold temperatures and pillowy snow as we work our way over the gently rolling terrain past the ford site and back.  An excellent postholing workout!  The first six finishers will receive a prize.
