E. Marquez will lead "Bird Flew Plus" with an estimated duration of 4 hours.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Bird Ridge trailhead (the small original lot). We will head into the Valley before turning uphill to ascend directly to the Bird Ridge high point. For the return, we plan to divert directly down to the Indian Valley trail. From Indian Valley, we will follow the powerline back to the start.

05/22/2025 – Wolverine Ridge Exploration

Lee Helzer will lead "Wolverine Ridge Exploration" with an estimated duration of 4 hours.

Meet for a 6:30 departure at the Glen Alps trailhead.  We will head out to Williwaw Lakes Trail then ascend Wolverine Peak via the south.  From the top we will follow the ridge back as long as time allows and return via Williwaw Lakes trail.

Meet for a 6:30 departure at the Upper Indian Creek Trailhead at the end of Boretide Rd.  We will head out the Powerline trail then attempt to find a trail which may or may not exist and return via the Indian Valley trail.

05/08/2025 – Epic 508

Jesse Gobeli will lead "Epic 508" with an estimated duration of 4 hours.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the McHugh Creek trailhead. We will take the main trail up valley for about 1.5 miles. At elevation 1400 feet, we will leave the trail to ascend a previously unexplored ridge. Scrambling opportunities abound as we work our way through cliffs and boulders to a windswept alpine plateau at 3500 feet. Another 700 feet of ascent will round out the climbing for the evening, followed by a blistering 1800 foot descent to the main trail and a 3.5 mile jog back to the trailhead.

04/24/2025 – Rays on Rainbow

Lee Helzer will lead "Rays on Rainbow" with an estimated duration of 4 hours.

Meet at 6:30 in the Telephone Pole Rock parking area (on the left after Beluga Point) on the Seward Highway. We will head up to the Turnagain Arm Trail and then diverge onto a ridge heading towards the Black Mesa. From there we will asses snow conditions and either continue up the North Face or the south west ridge of Rainbow Peak (hopefully) enjoying a beautiful sunset along the way.  Ice axe and micro spikes recommended.

From the summit we will take the standard route back to the Turnagain Arm Trail and return to the cars. There are out and back opportunities for those not desiring partaking in the full enchilada.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Weight Station just south of Potter Marsh. We will take the Turnagain Arm trail for about a mile before jumping off to ultimately ascend Potter Overlook. We will make our way back down by a direct route to the main trail for the return.

Meet at the Abbott Loop Community Park off Elmore for a 6:30 departure.  We will take a random array of trails toward the botanical garden then loop around Far North Bicentennial Park in a meandering tour.

We will meet at the lower parking lot at the McHugh Creek trailhead at 6:30. We will cross the creek and follow the ridge through meadows and possibly bushwhacking up to the top of Black Mesa, then descend towards Turnagain Arm and return via the Turnagain Arm Trail.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Rabbit Lakes trailhead at the end of Canyon road. We will take the main trail for a couple of miles, then head directly up to the summit of Flaketop. We will traverse to the Ptarmigan pass and return by the main trail.

Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Prospect Heights trailhead. We will proceed along the western rim of South Fork Campbell Creek canyon, using a combination of old and new trails, and some bushwhacking to stay as close to the rim as we can. We will cross the creek at the bridge near Glen Alps, and return similarly on the eastern rim.

Meet for a 6:30 departure at the Campbell Creek Estuary parking lot which is off Selkirk Dr. and Edinburgh Dr.  We will take the coast to Jodhpur and ascend the Bluff.  We will turn around in the vicinity of the Costal Trail and return on the coast chasing the receding tide.  Expect muddy feet.
